November 19, 2021

Washington, DC – Following today’s House of Representatives passage of the Build Back Better Act, Kids in Need of Defense is praising inclusion of key provisions to protect immigrants, including relief for millions of DREAMers. In response, KIND President Wendy Young issued the following statement:

“KIND applauds the House of Representatives for its passage today of the Build Back Better Act that contains critical protections for immigrants, including relief for millions of DREAMers, TPS holders, farm workers, and other essential workers who are stewards of our communities and engines of the American economy. As consideration shifts to the Senate, KIND urges Senators to ensure robust protections that reflect the administration’s commitment to strengthening the U.S. immigration system through this bill and bringing long-overdue relief to millions of our neighbors, loved ones, friends, and colleagues who form part of the backbone of the nation.”
