Build a career protecting children's rights

At KIND (Kids in Need of Defense), we’re searching for people who want to unite their talents with a critical mission: ensuring that unaccompanied and separated children do not face their journey to seek safety alone. Since 2008, we’ve been protecting vulnerable children — and we’re looking for dedicated professionals to help us expand that work. We believe true impact starts with people, our people. KIND is deeply committed to holistic wellness, and we work every day to foster a workplace where everyone feels valued, respected, and empowered to thrive.

I pursued this job after seeing a photograph of a 4-year-old child appearing alone before an immigration judge. Knowing we were better as a country, I wanted to work with people who represented that. I had a hunch KIND was that place. Now I know for sure.

"While I’ve worked with international teams in the past, here I’ve had the opportunity to lean into more complex HR areas, including international labor laws and employee relations. Collaborating across different regions and with colleagues at all levels of the organization has strengthened my perspective and made me a more well-rounded professional. "
Brizia Human Resources
"KIND has allowed me to learn from my colleagues all around the world, and to understand the challenges faced by unaccompanied and separated children around the world. KIND pushes their staff to do their best, and to continuously learn from one another. It has made me a better professional, and it pushes me every day to ensure we help as many children as we can.   "
Elisa Europe Team
"Working with children has always been a passion of mine. From my first job in high school where I worked at a summer camp for children with developmental disabilities and then throughout my professional career. "

Laws too often fall short of what children need. But our organization has helped countless kids find enduring safety, and it is their examples that redouble my resolve. KIND clients have become high school salutatorian; captain of the chess team; serve individuals with special needs; aspire to join the military or to become immigration attorneys. Their lives are our organization’s polestars.
