For me, Pride Month is a time to truly represent myself. As a gay individual, it’s the month where we can freely express ourselves and celebrate in the streets. My family’s support has been vital in forming my identity, and learning to accept myself was a challenging but essential step.
Growing up in Honduras, I faced adversity and homophobia, which made self-acceptance difficult. Moving to the U.S. was a turning point—I found a community where I could be free and true to myself.

Despite my struggles with anxiety, I strive every day for a successful future. I’m determined to finish high school, pursue a career in medicine or criminology, and live authentically. I’ve endured bullying and negative comments, but they’ve only made me stronger. I refuse to let others define me. With my mother’s unwavering support, I’m motivated to move forward and succeed. Let’s support each other, embrace our true selves, and leave behind the negativity.
