Looking Back and Looking Forward: Five Years After Zero Tolerance
It has been five years since thousands of children were wrenched from their parents’ arms and forcibly separated under the barbaric Zero Tolerance Policy–resulting in more than 5,400 child separations that lasted weeks, months, years, and for some, to this very day.
KIND has been at the forefront of helping separated families since then–reuniting more than 490 separated individuals and their family members–and serving more than 2,700 people whose lives have been affected by family separation in the United States and in Central America.
