In response to the State Department Human Right’s Report’s gutting of the violence against women section, KIND enlisted Honduran women’s rights experts to prepare the following expert declaration detailing widespread sexual and gender-based violence (SGBV) in Honduras, as well as that nation’s failure to address this crisis.
This declaration provides up-to-date information on forms, social context, and prevalence of SGBV in Honduras, as well as barriers to accessing protection, justice, and assistance for survivors of violence. It also provides an outline of existing laws related to SGBV in Honduras and gaps in their implementation
