KIND's Annual Report 2016

The urgency for legal services for unaccompanied children has never been greater. While large numbers of unaccompanied children continue to flee to the United States to escape widespread violence, including sexual and gender-based violence, from gangs, human traffickers and narco-traffickers, these children are being targeted, and many other immigrants, for deportation.

We know without question that attorneys make all the difference in a child’s immigration case.
We are pleased to report that through the generous support of our volunteer attorneys from law firms, corporations, law schools, and bar associations, we are representing more children than ever before with an enormous rate of success – 90 percent. This translates into thousands of children who will now have a chance for a safe and hopeful future.
