Child Safeguarding and Preventing Sexual Harassment, Exploitation and Abuse (SHEA)

To further KIND’s mission of protecting unaccompanied refugee and migrant children and to guard against harassment, exploitation, or abuse of anyone (including refugees, children, family members, and other program clients) by staff of KIND or its partner organizations, KIND developed this Child Safeguarding and Preventing Sexual Harassment, Exploitation and Abuse (SHEA) Policy (“Policy”). KIND seeks to minimize the risk of harm to children and youth while serving this population, and ensure timely, appropriate reporting and handling of concerns about a child or youth’s welfare and incidence of SHEA. KIND requires its personnel and all other Covered Parties (defined below) to adhere to this Policy at all times. KIND also requires partner organizations to implement their own Child Safeguarding policies. KIND does not intend for this policy to replace or supplant other professional ethics or standards of representation that apply to Covered Parties.
