Without attorneys, it is all but impossible for unaccompanied children to navigate the complex and adversarial U.S. immigration system. Yet year after year, most of these children, including those as young as three and four, are unrepresented—an ongoing due process crisis. This KIND resource explains why counsel for unaccompanied children is critical to due process and immigration court efficiency and highlights the American public’s widespread support for expanding legal representation of this uniquely vulnerable population.
