KIND has submitted the following statement in preparation for the House Foreign Affairs Committee’s Subcommittee on Global Health, Global Human Rights, and International Organizations hearing titled “Children are not for Sale – Global Efforts to Address Child Trafficking.”
KIND’s approach is firmly aligned with the internationally recognized “3P” framework for countering human trafficking: protection, prosecution, and prevention. Our primary focus is on safeguarding the welfare of children. Our extensive work in diverse global contexts has underscored the critical need for seamless coordination across borders and disciplines. This coordination is essential to prioritize and actualize child protection at every stage of our efforts. Through our dedicated work, we have identified pragmatic and easily accessible strategies to proactively prevent and combat human trafficking and exploitation. We do this by addressing protection gaps, prioritizing the rights of children, and developing comprehensive models that empower children to access support and protection.
