KIND urged EOIR to withdraw a proposed rule regarding continuances in removal proceedings, as it would impose conditions and standards on individuals, including children, in removal proceedings that will reduce the likelihood of receiving a fair day in court. It would also hinder the ability of children and others seeking humanitarian protection that Congress determined to be within the jurisdiction of U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS). KIND’s comments were submitted on Dec. 28, 2020.
