In response to a request for public comment and suggestion from USCIS on improving access to immigration services and benefits, KIND submitted an analysis of both the practical problems that practitioners and clients encounter in pursuing applications and petitions as well as suggestions on improving policies and regulations that directly affect unaccompanied children. The comment focuses on restoring trust, improving customer service, reducing unnecessary paperwork and delays, increasing training, and developing regulations and policies that adhere to laws designed to guarantee the rights of unaccompanied children.
