In August 2019, Kids in Need of Defense (KIND) traveled to the Honduran cities of El Progreso, San Pedro Sula, and Tegucigalpa to learn more about the violence affecting children and youth.1 KIND met with over 80 individuals including youth, families, teachers and representatives of non-governmental organizations living and working in areas affected by violence to hear about their first hand experiences and perspectives on the forms of violence affecting children and youth. This report outlines our principal findings and recommendations for the U.S. and Honduran governments.
En agosto de 2019, KIND viajó a las ciudades hondureñas de El Progreso, San Pedro Sula y Tegucigalpa para conocer más acerca de la violencia que está afectando a la niñez y a la juventud.1 KIND se reunió con más de 80 personas, incluyendo jóvenes, familias, maestros y representantes de organizaciones no gubernamentales que viven y trabajan en áreas afectadas por la violencia para escuchar de primera mano sus experiencias y perspectivas acerca de las formas de violencia que afectan a la niñez y a la juventud. Este informe resume nuestros hallazgos y recomendaciones principales para los gobiernos de Estados Unidos y Honduras.
