On March 8, KIND submitted comments in response to new forms proposed by the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) relating to the provision of mental health services and related records for children in the care of the Office of Refugee Resettlement (ORR). KIND recommends that the proposed mental health evaluation forms align with evidence-based screening tools validated for use with immigrant children, and urges ORR to ensure confidentiality of children’s mental health records.
