Washington, DC— Kids in Need of Defense (KIND) is heralding the U.S. Senate’s passage of a budget resolution that includes a pathway to citizenship for Dreamers, people with TPS, farmworkers, and essential workers as a victory for the promise of the United States, noting it’s a critical step toward providing millions of people with protection and stability. The following is a statement from KIND President Wendy Young:
“Our hearts are lighter today knowing that millions of people for whom the United States is home, individuals who are integral members of our families and communities, as well as those who have kept us safe and helped put food on our tables, are one step closer to the protection that U.S. citizenship brings. The House should swiftly act to pass the resolution and ensure that this protection becomes a reality as part of reconciliation this fall.”
