KIND President Prioritizes Child Protection Following 2024 Election

November 6, 2024

Washington, D.C. In the wake of the 2024 election, Kids in Need of Defense (KIND) President Wendy Young issued the following statement:

“KIND’s mission centers on the protection of unaccompanied and separated children seeking safety alone. In the wake of the 2024 election results, KIND remains focused on that vital work, on our commitment to building alliances across the political spectrum, and on advocacy to advance protections for unaccompanied children fleeing traffickers, human rights abuses, violence, environmental disaster, and other threats. KIND urges incumbent and newly elected lawmakers at all levels to join us in this effort by putting child protection above politics. We will remain vigilant to ensure unaccompanied and separated children continue to have access to the services and legal rights that keep them safe.”
