Our Technology Team

Madi Nassiri leads the technology and data teams at KIND dedicated to enabling internal and external constituents with smart data driven technology solutions focused on mission delivery. Madi is a highly versatile technology leader with over 20 years of experience and extensive background in product development, enterprise technology operations and solutions delivery within diverse industries and sectors. He focused the last seventeen year of his career supporting the mission of organizations such as the Pew Charitable Trusts, Goodwill Industries International, the American Chemical Society and the D.C. Public School System where his leadership was recognized for the most successful student information systems implementation in urban districts in 2016. Madi’s career also includes the establishment and management of a consultancy practice supporting technology strategy, selection, and deliver. Earlier in his career, he led in the development and implementation of innovative eCommerce platforms at several startups.

Michelle focuses on using data to demonstrate impact of services and promote continuous quality improvement. She previously worked at the software company Social Solutions in Baltimore as a Strategic Consultant for large non-profits and government agencies, helping them streamline their data collection systems and measure outcomes through customized reports. Prior to this she was a Casework Supervisor at the International Rescue Committee in Silver Spring, where she led the transition to a new case management software system and improved quality assurance processes in addition to supervising resettlement services for refugees and asylees. She graduated from the University of Notre Dame with degrees in Political Science and Public Service.

Marabi graduated from Boston University with a degree in International Relations and Spanish Language and Literature. Early in her undergraduate career, she worked as a translator for Boston University School of Law’s Immigrants’ Rights Clinic, where she assisted in the adjudication of immigration cases of children and other members of vulnerable populations. This ignited in her a passion for the protection of immigrant rights and led her to work as a tutor with the Intergenerational Literacy Program in Chelsea, MA. There, she assisted adults seeking to obtain high-school equivalency certification and improve their English language acquisition. This experience in English education allowed her to intern at Fundación ACOBE in Madrid, Spain, where she gave supplementary English lessons to children, most of whom had recently emigrated from Bolivia to Spain. At Fundación ACOBE she also provided guidance to clients regarding social services available to immigrants in the Community of Madrid in order to assist them on their path toward social integration. Working with KIND has reaffirmed her commitment and desire to work to support the empowerment of vulnerable populations and she is excited to continue working for the protection of immigrant children with the rest of KIND’s dedicated staff.

Jimmy has been in the nonprofit sector since 2012, and most recently has works as a Special Projects Manager for Root Capital based in Boston. While there, he worked to implement, support and manage the IT Infrastructure for 140 users spanning 5 continents. He has a life-long passion for technology, and believes firmly in the power of connecting people to the resources they need to succeed. He graduated from The Pennsylvania State University majoring in History with a minor in Political Science, and in his spare time enjoys reading, watching movies, and hikes with his wonderful dog Ella.

Juan was born and raised in New Orleans. He attended Tulane University and University of New Orleans receiving degrees in History and Political Science. Prior to joining KIND, he worked at Catholic Charities of the Archdiocese of Galveston – Houston, which helps provide legal representation to detained and released unaccompanied children.

Robyn Perry supports the Operations Department at KIND. She began her career as a Staff Attorney at the City Bar Justice Center in NYC, providing legal assistance to low-income New Yorkers in areas such as bankruptcy, consumer, housing, and family law. From there, she moved into the tech world as a Support and Implementation Specialist at LegalServer. While at LegalServer, she provided technical support and training to legal non-profits and law school clinics, and specialized in onboarding immigration clients. Most recently, she worked at NIIT, USA as a Senior Content Developer creating online training and support documents for clients in law, technology, and finance. Robyn is excited to use all of her acquired skills in her position as Data and Technology Training Manager at KIND. She is an excellent baker, an avid reader, and a proud member of Team Oxford Comma.

Prior to joining KIND, Laura was a freelance photographer and a regular volunteer with CAIR Coalition’s Detained Adult Program at Farmville Immigrant Detention Facility. She is currently a Wolcott Foundation Fellow at George Washington University, where she is pursuing her Master’s Degree in International Affairs. Focusing on Central America’s Northern Triangle region and Mexico, she specializes in migration, human security, and gender policy. She completed her Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree in Photography and Imaging at New York University and minored in Latin American Studies. After completing her undergraduate studies, Laura was the Digital Media Coordinator at the Hemispheric Institute of Performance and Politics at NYU from 2012-2016. Laura is also a devoted teacher and loves working with children; she taught English at a border school in the Dominican Republic, and in New York, she taught free photography courses to NYC high school students at International Center of Photography and NYU’s Tisch School of the Arts. After completing her Master’s program, Laura hopes to pursue a law degree to continue advocating for immigrants’ and children’s rights.

Kenia is passionate about human rights and social justice. Prior to joining KIND, Kenia graduated from Georgetown University with a Master's degree in Latin American Studies where she specialized in human rights, conflict resolution and gender. As a Bolivian-American, Kenia has always had an interest in advocating for the human rights of vulnerable populations in the Latin American region. She completed internships in Bolivia and Colombia where she focused on the rights of indigenous peoples and rural women. During her last semester at Georgetown University, she completed a capstone project regarding the issue of gender stipulations within the Colombian Peace Accords. Working alongside a Georgetown colleague, the Washington Office on Latin America, the Latin America Working Group, and Colombian civil-society organizations, she co-produced an advocacy report identifying priority issues and recommendations for the purpose of lobbying U.S. policymakers to support gender-inclusive conflict resolution and peace-building in Colombia. As a child of immigrant parents, Kenia is also particularly passionate about advocating for the rights of immigrant families and children, and is excited to support KIND's dedicated Special Programs team.

Dawson is the Microsoft 365 Administrator at KIND since April 2023. Prior to KIND, Dawson worked in technology, management, and leadership roles across nonprofit, for-profit, and government sectors for more than 15 years. Dawson served in the USAF as an Aerospace Ground Equipment mechanic and is a Microsoft alumni, chef, and passionate volunteer for other organizations. They earned a BS in Marketing and Strategic Communications from CSU, focusing on ethics in business, social impact programs, and defending consumer privacy. They live in the Seattle area with their partner, son, 2 dogs, and 2 cats. Dawson enjoys gaming, reading, and taking her custom vehicles to charity car shows.
