Washington, DC – This evening, following the death of U.S. Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg, Kids in Need of Defense (KIND) President Wendy Young issued the following statement:
“KIND mourns the death of U.S. Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg, who devoted her life to harnessing the power of our nation’s laws to protect the most vulnerable among us. She was one of the country’s greatest legal minds, a fierce defender of human and civil rights, and an unparalleled champion for the empowerment and protection of women. We must forge ahead to continue clearing the path she so diligently carved for all of us during her iconic career, creating a society not defined by stereotypes and prejudices, but strengthened through our common commitment for a brighter future where all can thrive. As we grapple with this heartbreaking loss, we must ensure that her legacy continues to serve as a beacon for all who aspire to live up to the ideals of our great nation.”
