Helping children navigate the legal system in the United Kingdom

In collaboration with the Migrant and Refugee Children’s Legal Unit within the Islington Law Centre in London, JustRight Scotland, Coram Children’s Legal Centre, Greater Manchester Immigration Aid Unit, and Central England Law Centre, Kids in Need of Defense reaches children in London, the Midlands, and Scotland and has, in 2024:

received more than 480 referrals
achieved nearly 200 individual grants of citizenship or ability to remain
enabled 991 lawyers to participate in at least one case in 2024

KIND in Europe

Children are increasingly seeking safety in Europe, driven from their home countries by conflict and other violence, persecution, discrimination, and extreme hardship; some children arrive alone, while others are separated from their family in flight.

KIND in Mexico

In Mexico, KIND assists migrant children who are unaccompanied, separated, or at-risk of separation with a focus on Mexico’s northern and southern border regions.

KIND in Central America

Through our programs, partnerships, and advocacy in Central America, KIND aims to ensure children’s rights and protection needs before, during and after their journey to safety.
