The KIND Client Art Exhibit: Promoting Education, Connection, and Action

January 22, 2025

The KIND Client Traveling Art Exhibit, Seeking Safety, Creating Change, is a collection of drawings, paintings, and prints by KIND’s unaccompanied child clients that offers insight into their personal migration journeys toward freedom from fear. The collection contains more than 25 pieces from young artists who came alone to the United States from around the world, including Afghanistan, El Salvador, Guatemala, Guinea, and Honduras, and continues to grow.

The exhibit promotes understanding of unaccompanied children’s challenges, successes, and promise as clients reflect on their cultural identity, their past, and their future in the United States. Artist statements that accompany many of the pieces encourage viewers to connect to the artists as they grapple with the pain of their experiences while also expressing optimism, hope, and joy in their new lives. KIND shares these important works with a wide range of audiences as a national traveling exhibition. The exhibit has appeared in venues around the country, including Art on Paper New York 2024, Mana Contemporary, and during the United Nations 2023 General Assembly.
