Washington, DC – Kids in Need of Defense (KIND) President Wendy Young issued the following statement honoring the memory of KIND Board of Directors Member Andrew Plepler:
“The entire KIND team and our Board of Directors is deeply saddened by the passing of Board of Directors Member Andrew Plepler, who inspired each of us through his unflagging commitment to advancing the rights of others, innate optimism, strong sense of compassion, and strategic leadership. He embodied all that should ground us in our efforts to make the world a better place and through his career at the Bank of America demonstrated the power of the private sector in advancing that goal. Since 2022, Andrew’s presence on KIND’s Board of Directors strengthened our organization, and we will always treasure the vision and passion he brought to this role. Andrew’s legacy will endure as KIND continues its mission to protect unaccompanied and separated children around the world. We send our thoughts and prayers to Andrew’s wife, Tracy, and the whole Plepler family in these difficult times.”
