We are seeking both volunteer interpreters and translators to help children communicate with their legal teams, understand what is happening in their cases and share their experiences in their own language. Interpreters convert spoken or signed language in real time from one language to another. Translators convert written text from one language to another, including formal legal paperwork like birth certificates. Interpretation will be needed specifically during regular business hours 9am-5pm, Monday through Friday. Interpretation can happen remotely (over phone, virtually) or in person. Translation can be completed off hours but will have specific deadlines and be completed remotely.
